Art Boot Camp Perlis : 2 - 5 September 2013

Perlis

Day 4 (2 September 2013)
We say good buy to Kedah as we make our way for lunch at Perlis. We were pleasantly welcome by the famous mee udang "Prawn Noodle" of Perlis. The daily freshly harvested sea prawn were not only big, juicy and sweet but accompanied by the special sauce make it one food you must try when you next visit Perlis.

The famous Mi Udang

After checking into Tasoh Lake Resort it was paradise for many of us as it was the best resort we have stayed in our trip.  Surrounded by lake, boats, buffaloes, mountains, trees and morning midst the artist could not help but venture far and wide to paint till late in the evening. The sunrise and sunset viewed from the resort is a wow factor that caught many of us by surprise.

Day 5 (3 September 2013)
Early in the morning after witnessing the beautiful sunrise at Lake Tasoh we make our way to Gua Kelam "Dark Cave". As we walk through the cave we witness nature art work beautifully crafted through time. As we exit the cave, we were surrounded by rich forestry. It was peaceful and surreal accompanied with birds cheeping and trees singing the morning melody. Once again the artist chose their spot and spend the next 3-4 hours painting and making melody with nature through art.

Day 6 (4 September 2013)
After saying goodbye to Lake Tasoh we make our way to Kampung Abi, a picturesque village surrounded by paddy fields. With the permission of the village head the artist went to different part of the village to paint the paddy fields of Perlis. Which after 3-4 hours we visited the village and took pictures of village houses and village life of Kg Abi.

Coming all the way to Perlis we could not help ourselves but to pay a short visit to Padang Besar, a market bordering Thailand. A place where one can find good buys for food and clothing's from Thailand. If you do visit this place do take the opportunity to cross over the border. Remember to bring your passport though.

Our last stop were at Bukit Ayer Resort, nested between the foot of the surrounding hills where the air is most refreshing.  The artist were busy completing their art work from the afternoon till late in the morning. Those who handed the work early got together and see each other's paintings and exchange notes and comments.
