When GAP’s holds their annual general meeting, every state takes its turn. For this year itself, this fruitful meeting was organised in Kota Bharu and I was invited by Yang DiPertua Mohd Shaimy as a guest observer and also to spend time with participating artists during their process of painting and sketching in a tiny fishing village at Geting, Tumpat.

With Ismail Kadir (Deputy President II of GAP's) at Geting Canopy

A total of 60 artists from ten states attended the annual general meeting and participated in the outdoor painting & sketching at Geting, Tumpat

Ismail Kadir presented a painting to YB. Dato' Mej (Rtd) Hj. Md. Anizam

It is a splendid idea whereby GAP’s takes turn in every state to organise this annual general meeting while simultaneously getting artists to participate in the outdoor painting programme. About two months later, they will hold a group exhibition at a gallery in Central Market, KL. YB. Dato' Mej (Rtd) Hj. Md. Anizam is very glad to see GAP’s has put in so much initiative, thus YB Dato’ offers a donation of RM5, 000 to the society and extends his invitation to artists to return to Kota Bharu in painting the scenery of the city during the monsoon season. YB Dato’ is indeed curious to see how the artists will paint the flooded city on a boat!
